MISD Fall Convocation 2017- MEF Grant Recipients

Marshall ISD Teachers, Staff and Administrators!

Do you have a great idea to help your students?  Is that idea designed to assist and foster student learning and better classroom outcomes, results or the classroom environment?  We want to hear from you.  Last year we gave a brand new record of more than $50,000 in grants to teachers and administrators just like you!  This generosity from our community was given to help you make your ideas a reality in the classroom and at your School!

Marshall Education Foundation wants you to apply to receive a grant today!  Don’t miss out the deadline for this year’s submissions is June 15th!

Here is an inspiring story from one of last years grant winners

MISD teachers are making a difference in the lives of their students with the help of the MEF!

Grant recipient instills love of reading in Kindergartners at Price T. Young. With the help of the Marshall Education Foundation, Michelle Bruce, Kindergarten Teacher at Price T. Young, created a Listening Center in her classroom. Over the course of two years, Mrs. Bruce has been able to purchase the CD player device, three sets of headphones, and numerous sets of books. The students listen to the story and follow along in a book which helps them with word recognition, pronunciation, and develops a great foundation as the young students learn to read.

When asked about the listening center, one student replied, “We read every day and we like all the books. We like to read and it’s good to read because you can learn all the stuff and you can know everything in the whole wide world.”

Join us in donating to the MEF through the Big Mav Give! You can use the donate button at the bottom of this post & your donation will go straight to teachers!!
